We live in Colorado and New York. Our friends live everywhere. We usually build tools for software engineers and data analysts. We build silly things too.
For a long time we ran an app to send postcards by text message. It didn't make us much money, but it brought lots of joy to girlfiends and best-friends and grandpas.
Occasionally, we'd have a day with 50 postcards, and our servers would crash (we would run around restarting the Kubernetes and get our parents to help pull messages from Kafka). It turned out, our users were coordinating sending postcards.
They would send birthday postcards together or advocate to their councilmen about local energy projects. They sent hundreds of personalized thank you cards to volunteers who ran a summer camp for children with physical disabilities. They were sending a bride their favorite pictures from the bachelorette party and sending the newlyweds crowd-sourced photos from the wedding.
A rental shop for climbing gear had a note on the counter asking for postcards from climbing trips and a wall full of customer's terrifying climbing photos.
It took us a while, but we're excited to share PostCampaigns - a website to coordinate sending postcards and sharing special moments. (And we upgraded to a scalable serverless architecture.) We're excited to see what you build and share.
